Artist Statement

The fact of impermanence is ever-present.  However, it is often difficult to know it truly in our being.  I use the process of creating to confront the ever-changing nature of all things since the artistic process itself, too, is always evolving and growing.  It is the pursuit of understanding and embracing life’s fleeting qualities.  My images are expressions of experiences distilled through the contemplation of impermanence using composition, mark-making and surface textures that are balanced between theoretical execution and spontaneous expression.
